Are you looking for the best dove-hunting experience in Texas and the entire country? Look no further than White Wing Fields, where they have cultivated a hunting lease of nearly 400 acres along the banks of the historic Rio Grande River for over 25 years. Their sunflowers and other forage are grown specifically for the white wing and mourning dove, making their fields magnets for birds on both sides of the border and migratory birds later in the season. They have the ideal combination of food, water, and roosting habitat that doves require. Not only do they offer the finest dove hunting experience in South Texas, but they also want everyone to feel at home. Hunters are welcome to set up shade tarps, bring tailgate grills and coolers, and generally make themselves comfortable. Their location is easily accessible from either South Padre Island or Arroyo City, so if you are vacationing or fishing in those places, consider adding bird hunting to your itinerary. Come to White Wing Fields and experience the thrill of dove hunting today.
Charro Days is an annual fiesta celebrated in late February in Brownsville, Texas. This event brings together the community to showcase the city's unique features and celebrate the Mexican heritage of the area on both sides of the Rio Grande. The festival was first conceived in 1937 by local business leaders to pay tribute to the "Charro," the dashing Mexican gentleman cowboy. The festival celebrates the spirit of two cultures and unites the border towns of Brownsville and Matamoros. It pays homage to Brownsville's location on the border with Mexico and its rich cultural heritage. During the festival, residents and visitors dress up in traditional Mexican outfits to honor the "Charros," the heroes of the borderlands and Mexican cowboys.
